Day one after surgery

Hello friends and family.

Im going to use this blog to keep anyone who wants to, up to date about my Cancer journey.

surgery went well yesterday.

Today I felt up to baking cookies.

Got a a bunch of lovely messages from friends.

My daughter Ashley had brought over a frozen casserole on Wednesday.

so we had that for supper tonight.

A dear friend Corinne dropped off lunch. Sister Gay sent flowers and a goody basket from Ontario.

step daughter Shannon dropped over with a hanging plant and a card from her and Jeff.

Mark and Ashley came by with some books and a plant.

Mark got me set up on this blog.

so feeling the love .

I will use this space to journal this journey that I never planned on taking.

so come along for the ride.

More to come

  1. Mel,

Today marks a courageous new chapter, I just want to say how in awe I am of your strength. Surgery may be behind you now, but the bravery it took to get here is still shining through.

Recovery isn’t linear, and there may be ups and downs ahead please know you’re not walking this path alone. One day at a time, one step at a time, everyone is here with you cheering you on, holding space for your emotions.

Mel you’ve already shown the kind of resilience that inspires others. Be gentle with yourself as your body begins to heal and your spirit adjusts. Rest when you need, cry if you must.
Sending you love, hugs & strength for tomorrow and all the days after.
    Love Julie x

PS Even though we haven’t been friends long, I took to you immediately. There’s a warmth and honesty about you that draws people in, everyone needs a Mel in their lives x
PSS please excuse my user name on this I don’t know how to change it 🤦‍♀️

Thank you for your kind words.
I know you’ve taken a similar unwanted journey and are walking one with your sister in the UK
      We’ll get through this.
